Located in the heart of North Carolina’s Piedmont, Rowan County is attractively and conveniently nestled between the state’s largest city and its Capitol. The County is currently accepting applications for the position of Part-time Income Maintenance Caseworker I (Economic Services Division). This position assists applicants/beneficiaries in person and on the phone with eligibility cases. The position requires the ability to work within a variety of state and county information systems and to document activities clearly and correctly. The position may assign walk-in, online, or phone application/redetermination cases to primary caseworkers, interview clients to obtain information, verify information, manage phone calls, and otherwise support the assigned caseworkers in providing timely, quality economic services.
Requires the ability to comprehend complex eligibility criteria, to apply Federal, State, and County rules and procedures to individual circumstances, to meet deadlines/timeframes, and to manage the assigned workload; ability to manage multiple computer systems efficiently; excellent keyboarding skills; and considerable computer knowledge.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree; an Associate’s Degree in Human Services, Business Administration, Paralegal Technology, or related area; or high school diploma and two years of paraprofessional, clerical, or public contact experience which includes interviewing, explaining information, gathering and compiling of data, analysis of data and/or the performance of mathematical or legal tasks with at least one year of such experience being in an income maintenance program; or high school diploma and three years of professional clerical or public contact experience. Coursework/Degrees must be from an appropriately accredited institution. Bi-lingual applicants preferred.
Pay Rate: $19.58 - $21.55 (commensurate with experience).
