The County is currently accepting applications for the position of Public Health Nursing Supervisor II. This position provides supervision, leadership and planning for a variety of public health programs; establishes program goals in areas assigned; collects and analyzes data related to program operation and outcomes and staff output; conducts and facilitates quality assurance and improvement audits; develops and prepares grants to obtain funding for current and/or new projects; compiles cost information in planning and justifying budget; works with financial and billing staff requiring knowledge of software and electronic health record development and implementation; provides supervision, evaluation and monitoring of staff work plans and performance; develops, reviews, and adjusts goals, standards, guidelines, policies and procedures as needed; updates nursing standing orders based upon practice guidelines, standards of care, and NC Board of Nursing guidelines for medical director review and approval; participates in needs assessments and develops portions of the strategic plan related to personal health programs and health department goals; evaluates staff training/competency needs and assists in arranging training; conducts staff performance reviews, counseling and disciplinary functions; and works with lab and pharmacy directors.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing which includes a Public Health Nursing rotation and four years of Public Health Nursing experience including one year of supervisory experience; or graduation from an accredited school of Professional Nursing and five years of professional nursing experience, four of which must have been in public health including one year of experience in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Must be licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. A valid driver’s license is required. Degree/Coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution.
Starting Salary $84,700 - $93,100/annual (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package available. Benefits include health, dental, vision, retirement, 401K, flexible spending, paid holidays, employee discounts, and more.
