Position Overview:
The Diesel Mechanic Shop Manager will oversee the daily operations of our shop, ensuring efficient workflow, excellent service quality, and a safe working environment. This role involves managing a team of mechanics, maintaining customer satisfaction, and optimizing shop productivity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and motivate a team of diesel mechanics to meet performance goals.
- Operations Management: Plan and prioritize shop schedules, repair orders, and preventive maintenance to maximize efficiency.
- Customer Relations: Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing their needs and ensuring high service standards.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee repair quality, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.
- Inventory Management: Monitor parts and supplies, ensuring adequate stock for seamless operations.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Budget Oversight: Manage shop budgets and expenses, ensuring cost-effective operations.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in diesel mechanic repair, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, diagnostics, and repair techniques.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in shop management software is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.

Founded in 1950, Royal Coach serves the Westchester County, New York community with paratransit, school bus, and special education services. Seven years after being founded, Beniamino DiPaolo acquired the company and relocated Royal Coach to Yonkers.
