We are an award winning, aquarium services company that is celebrating their 32nd year in business! Specializing in the Design, Installation and Management of high profile projects, residential and commercial, we are seeking a highly motivated, hard working individual who has the love for fish and has some aquarium experience (mandatory).
This position may include, but not limited to:
- cleaning and maintaining client and in-house aquariums
- installing and moving fish tanks
- completing needed repairs
- traveling to client locations,
- visiting new potential clients to inform them of company services
- helping the team with various other activities
- shop work in various capacities.
Applicants must complete the Customer Service assessment AND Attention to Detail assessment to be considered for an interview.
Benefits and Compensation:
- This position starts at $15.00 to $18.00 per hour
- Paid Time Off starts to accrue after 90 days.
- Position includes a company phone number, mileage reimbursement, and full paid drive time as applicable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Cleans and maintains fish aquariums,
- performing water testing and medicating tanks
- removing dead fish
- feeding fish
- acclimating new fish
- delivering products and aquatic animals to the customer.
- Coordinates and performs tasks involved with aquarium moves, new installations, disassembly of aquariums, equipment repair and replacement.
- Performs data entry and inventory tracking Perform other duties as assigned by management, or by others authorized by management.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic knowledge of salt and fresh water aquatic care, aquarium cleaning and aquarium set-up.
- Excellent work ethic and attitude.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good time management skills and organizational skills.
- Must be a fish enthusiast and enjoy working with aquariums.
- Relevant experience may include working as an animal care specialist, pet store associate, pet care specialist, animal care intern, animal keeper, zoo keeper, or some other related field.
- Ability to learn and utilize proper aquarium cleaning techniques.
- Basic mechanical ability.
- Basic knowledge of aquarium cleaning.
- Ability to occasionally travel to various markets outside of the regularly-assigned geographic area.
- Ability to drive a personal vehicle
- Ability to work ‘on call’, as determined by Management.
- Must have and maintain a good driving record.
- Able to use a GPS tracking device during working hours as required by Ruff Waters (GPS provided by Ruff Waters).
- Licenses, Certifications or Professional Designations
- Must maintain a valid state driver’s operating license and have a reliable mode of transportation.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to bend/twist body in order to clean aquariums.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time while cleaning aquariums.
- Must drive to the customers’ locations.
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Must be able to perform job duties while wearing protective equipment as required by Ruff Waters.
