Salem Media Group – Sacramento offers an exceptional opportunity for an On Air Host.  KTKZ – AM 1380 The Answer is searching for a Conservative Morning Talk Show Host. Our ideal candidate would be dynamic and engaging and not shy away from delivering Conservative radio while building a personal connection with our listeners. The ideal candidate will have a passion for entertainment, excellent communication skills, and a natural ability to connect with audiences. 

Responsibilities

• Host Live Broadcasts: Deliver engaging and compelling live shows, ensuring high energy, professionalism, and audience connection.
• Create Content: Develop, script, and plan show segments, including music playlists, talk segments, guest interviews, and interactive audience engagement.
• Audience Interaction: Interact with listeners/viewers through phone calls, social media, and on-air shout-outs to maintain a strong connection with the audience.
• Conduct Interviews: Host interviews with guests, such as musicians, celebrities, experts, and community leaders, ensuring the conversation remains informative and entertaining.
• Client Events and remotes:  connecting with the community and our listeners, building a relationship with clients through the revenue team and networking within the market.
• Monitor Broadcasts: Ensure smooth operation of live broadcasts by monitoring sound quality, equipment functionality, and show timing.
• Maintain Show Schedule: Adhere to broadcast schedules, including timing of segments, commercials, and breaks.
• Stay Current: Keep up to date with industry trends, pop culture, music, news, and relevant topics to bring fresh and engaging content to the show.
• Collaborate with Team: Work closely with producers, audio engineers, and other team members to coordinate content and ensure seamless production.
• Promote Station/Brand: Represent the station/brand in a professional manner on-air and at public events, helping to build and maintain the station’s image and listener base.
• Manage social media: Create and share engaging content on social media platforms to promote the show and engage with fans.

Qualifications

• Previous on-air or broadcasting experience preferred (radio, TV, or digital platforms).
• Passion and knowledge and passion for conservative content and media
• Must have a working knowledge and understanding of all FCC compliance.
• Strong verbal communication skills and a natural on-air presence.
• Ability to think quickly and improvise during live broadcasts.
• Comfortable with technology, including broadcast equipment and social media tools.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Team player with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
