Job Scope
Uses significant independent judgment and familiarity of the field to perform work. May be responsible for
administration of various moderate and high complexity departmental programs and may be the lead a group of
employees. May develop policies and procedures and oversee the implementation and execution of them.
Position Summary
Responsible for the development and overall execution of policies and procedures related to the administration
and security of Districtwide State and local testing programs. The District Testing Coordinator will act as the liaison
between SAISD Director of Testing and partnering assessment vendors. Develop and facilitate all training sessions
and materials for the professional development of all district campus and leadership. Ensure trainings and
expectations comply with federal, state, local, and district policies, rules, and regulations.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and coordinate district procedures, documentation, and handbooks for implementing,
administering, and tracking assessment compliance to include but not limited to test security procedures,
Campus Testing Coordinator certificates and training, assessment invoicing, budgets, student enrollment
in assessments, professional development, and related services.
2. Create reports and presentations for trainings, information, costs, and barriers related to SAISD campus
and student groups and assist campuses with assessment implementation analysis and the development
of action plans in response to test administration.
3. Develop and coordinate best practices and assessment administration strategies, programs, and support
systems for campuses.
4. Create reports and monitor outcomes for assigned assessments and work collaboratively with campuses
to ensure implementation.
5. Partner with assessment vendors, local higher education institutions, District stakeholders, and the
community to promote the growth and success of the program; ensure services and resources are
available to students.
6. Support the district across multiple disciplines to support an integrated design that promotes consistency
in testing and a collaborative approach to assessment. Assist departments with ensuring the
understanding of secure student accessibility features, designated supports, and accommodations to
effectively address individual student needs.
7. Participate in assessment planning and handbook development sessions with various departments,
Special Programs, and administrators to assure security and compliance in testing and sustain integrity in
student testing data.
8. Develop plans for a continuum of services that consider individual school initiatives.
9. Develop and facilitate training and professional development for district stakeholders. Promotes and
ensures workshops, conferences, and trainings are in alignment with assessment requirements.
10. Participate with campus observations to advise and provide feedback for improvement.
11. Plan and develop communication strategies to promote program growth & celebration; research and stay
abreast on current trends and legislative bills; disseminate information to districts stake holders, students,
and the community.
12. Contribute to the development of the yearly testing budget including systems for on-line assessment, and
a tracking/auditing system on actual money spent.
13. Coordinate transportation and food services for students while testing on campuses; ensures campuses
are informed and any updates are communicated promptly.
14. Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities
expected for this position.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or 4 years equivalent experience.
- 5 years’ experience in a testing coordinator or similar role to include:
o Experience with administration, evaluation, and analysis of assessment and accountability data.
o Experience working with special population such as ELL, Special Education, and gifted learners.
- Valid Teaching Certification.
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee

Preferred Requirements
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
