General Purpose:
The Shipping and Receiving Supervisor oversees all shipping and receiving operations at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, ensuring the timely processing of deliveries and outgoing shipments. This role maintains efficient inventory management, supervises warehouse staff, and ensures operational excellence to meet the needs of the resort and its guests.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operations for shipping, receiving, and inventory processes in the warehouse.
- Communicate with vendors, couriers, and internal departments to ensure timely deliveries and address any issues.
- Oversee and assist in unloading/loading trucks, verifying shipments against purchase orders or invoices.
- Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and report any damages or discrepancies.
- Process and distribute internal mail, owner parcels, and packages to departments and resort areas as needed.
- Ensure proper handling and documentation for all outgoing shipments, including returns and guest/conference group parcels.
- Maintain records of received and shipped goods, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and stocked with essential equipment.
- Lead and train warehouse staff to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to fulfill operational needs.
- Provide exceptional guest service through clear communication and a helpful attitude.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Prior experience in warehouse operations or logistics required; supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping/receiving processes and inventory management systems.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and solve problems effectively.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods (up to 5 hours).
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs. and occasionally push/pull carts weighing up to 200 lbs.
- Frequent bending, reaching, climbing, and repetitive motions required.
- Strong manual dexterity and visual acuity are necessary for handling equipment and inspecting shipments.
