Position Description
The Safety Specialist II is responsible for providing safety, risk management and educational services to the company, thereby cultivating a safe work environment to reduce accidents and injuries. This position is also responsible for providing coordination/assistance to the company's Industrial Hygiene program.
Essential Job Tasks:
Participates in and assists with work-site and hazardous duty crew inspections.
Directly supports the company's Industrial Hygiene program to include vendor contact responsibility, respirator fit testing, dosimeter studies, noise surveys, Hazard Communication compliance and other associated IH duties.
Conducts and assists with timely in-depth investigation of each industrial safety related incident. Prepares detailed report with findings and recommendations for future avoidance.
Coordinates, with Learning and Development, the safety education of Santee Cooper employees to ensure compliance with OSHA standards. Assists with safety training for all hazardous duty employees, at least semi-annually.
Working knowledge of applicable Federal and State OSHA standards, and provides information to all company functions. Knowledge of any local or state required safety standards.

Safety Specialist II
Bachelors Degree in Safety Administration, Safety Engineering or related field 2 years experience in distribution, power delivery, generation or safety/industrial hygiene, Associate degree in Safety Administration, Safety Engineering, or related field 5 years experience in distribution, power delivery, generation or safety/industrial hygiene or High School Diploma/GED 7 years experience in distribution, power delivery, generation or safety/industrial hygiene required.
Compensation Information: $65,080 - $81,350
Safety Specialist III
Bachelors Degree in Safety Administration, Safety Engineering or related field 5 years experience in distribution, power delivery, generation or safety/industrial hygiene, Associate degree in Safety Administration, Safety Engineering, or related field 7 years experience in distribution, power delivery, generation or safety/industrial hygiene or High School Diploma/GED 9 years experience in distribution, power delivery, generation or safety/industrial hygiene required.
Compensation Information: $80,890 - $101,110
