About the job

The Health and Life Sciences division within SAS R&D is looking for a Software Developer to join our SAS Health development team.  As a member of the HLS division Health development team you will be responsible for the software development of our Viya 4-based SAS Health Framework, and the SAS Health Episode Builder solutions.

As a Software Developer, you will: 

• Scope product requirements, estimate effort, and help plan release schedules.
• Work with team leads to evolve software architecture to meet changes in product requirements.
• Participate in all steps of the continuous development lifecycle - including design, development, and testing.
• Ensure quality by creating and maintaining unit tests.
• Provide support of the product to internal customers.
• Collaborate with team members to implement innovative approaches to real world problems.
• Collaborate with technical writers to share information with end users in the form of product documentation, videos, and/or white papers.

Required Qualifications

• You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
• 5 years of experience working on large complex software products as a developer.
• Proficient in SAS Programing language and the Data Step.
• Proficiency in both server (Java / Go) and client (React / TypeScript) technologies.
• Demonstrated experience with unit, regression, and integration testing.
• Demonstrated experience of Agile development practices and tools such as JIRA.
• Demonstrated experience CI/CD and associated tools like Jenkins, Git, Gerrit, Linux commands, etc
• Experience developing on the SAS Viya 4 platform (internal candidates),
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Any domain knowledge or experience in Healthcare.
• Understanding of software security – SAST, SCA, DAST
