Science Academy of Chicago is looking for highly qualified Elementary and Middle School teachers for the future in the following areas: K-3rd grade, 4th-8th grade specialty areas: Science, Math, Social Studies, English, ESL, Reading, Art, Music, Engineering, Physical Education, Technology, STEM, Foreign Language, Social Emotional Learning
- Cultural competency and ability to move comfortably in a diverse community
- Bachelor's Degree (required) Master's Degree (preferred)
- Valid Illinois Teaching Certificate (preferred)
- Understanding of Common Core State Standards
- Preferred training and/or experience or willingness to increase knowledge and use of the following instructional and engagement strategies to include: Strong Classroom Management Skills, Student Centered Classroom, Workshop Model, Balanced Literacy Approach (modeled, shared, guided), Reading/Writing Process, Differentiation, Teaching and Learning Cycle (assessment, evaluation, planning, teaching), Collaborative Team Member
