Position Summary :
The primary role of the News Editor is to produce high-quality, engaging, and timely news content for our daily mortgage news service. This position will also assist in producing content for our monthly magazine. The ideal candidate will have a passion for financial journalism, especially in the mortgage and residential housing industries.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with other editors to produce daily news related to the mortgage and real-estate industries.
- Develop news story ideas, conduct research, interview sources, and write content focusing on emerging trends and market insights.
- Write, edit, and proofread digital mortgage industry news content, crafting compelling headlines and visuals tailored to the target audience.
- Write, edit, and proofread editorial content for Scotsman Guide’s print magazine.
- Cultivate and maintain a database of reliable industry experts, ensuring consistent access to quality information.
- Utilize content analytics and SEO to optimize content decisions and maximize engagement.

Schedule :
Monday to Friday, Day Shift. Position requires adhering to Hybrid Policy, onsite 4 days a week with 1-day remote option. Limited travel may be required.
