Nurse Manager – Care Management and Ancillary Sites
Salary: $48.39 – $68.12, per hour, payable bi-weekly. The salary scale for this position is between steps 0 and 19, depending on experience. This is an exempt salary position, 40 hours a week. Applicants must pass an extensive background check.
About Us
Seattle Roots is a not-for-profit organization that operates two primary care clinics, an After-Hours Clinic, two School-Based Health Centers, a low barrier Medication-assisted treatment clinic, and a Dental Clinic. Our Carolyn Downs Family Medical Center was founded in 1970 by the Seattle Black Panther Party in Seattle’s Central District. Our Country Doctor Community Clinic was established in 1971 by residents of the Capitol Hill neighborhood in conjunction with the Seattle Liberation Front. The primary goal of each clinic was to provide low-barrier, high-quality healthcare services and promote social justice.

What You’ll Be Doing
The RN Manager- Care Management and Ancillary Sites, will work within a multi-disciplinary health care team, supporting the goals of quality care and patient satisfaction, and provides oversight for the day-to-day functioning of the care management team, the nursing staff in the STEP Clinic, Healthcare for Homeless Program, and Recovery Café.
Responsibilities: include overseeing an interdisciplinary team of nurses and maintaining knowledge across various nursing roles; scheduling, hiring, orienting, providing ongoing training, and disciplinary action; using in-the-moment problem-solving to facilitate smooth functioning of the clinic on any given day and involving providers as needed for appropriate clinical support/input.
- Providing direct supervision to RNs, including:
- Care Management RNs
- STEP Clinic RNs
- Recovery Care RNs
- Healthcare for Homeless RNs
- Maintaining knowledge of skills across various RN sites for patient support and staffing cross-coverage as needed
- Providing assistance across multiple sites and teams dependent on staffing needs
- Working collaboratively with other leadership members to develop and improve new protocols, workflows, and plans in a dynamic environment.
- Identifying and respond to areas of concern in workflow, patient safety, and risk management.
- Offering professional guidance, interpersonal support, and oversight to nursing team
- Coordinating scheduling and staffing needs to meet the demands of the sites and organization.
- Hiring and training new staff members, conducting performance reviews, and assisting with staff development initiatives
- Ensuring team utilization of current nursing practices and standards
- Participating in the development of policies and procedures and safety protocols
- Representing the nursing team at meetings and on committees as appropriate
- Working collaboratively across the organization on population health work including goal setting, workflow planning and oversight
- Conduct routine meetings and check-ins with direct reports.
- Participate in grants management, including collecting and presenting data with external partners as necessary.
- Partner with community partners and act as a point of contact
ABILITIES
- Able to supervise and manage the daily work of RNs

- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google products and working on PCs.
- Ability to quickly learn any software or database program.

You’ll need these qualifications.
Education and Training
Washington State RN license required
Experience
At least three years of supervisory experience is preferred
Two years of clinic nursing and triage experience preferred
Experience working with an electronic health record – EPIC Preferred
It would be nice if
- You bring experience with Epic electronic medical records (EMR) software.
- You have triage Nurse and Case management experience preferred
