As a Outreach Manager, you will provide direct oversight and leadership to the outreach and Search & Rescue program, ensuring effective operation and delivery of services in your designated area. Through your expertise and dedication, you demonstrate the love of Christ by empowering your team to make a positive impact on the lives of our homeless neighbors.
Pay Range: $23.87 - $33.41 Hourly
The above pay range is a guideline. For candidates who meet the qualifications of the job, the Mission’s Compensation Philosophy is to target the middle of the range. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final pay rate to be offered. Factors include (but are not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training as well as internal equity, market and other business considerations.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
How you will serve
- Provide direct oversight of Search and Rescue Specialists and volunteers, ensuring adherence to program objectives and standards.
- Manage a geographic area of King County, optimizing resource allocation and service delivery.
- Specialize in refining a list of resources pertaining to shelter and other services within the designated area.
- Coordinate and facilitate client needs coordination and follow-up, ensuring comprehensive support for guests.
- Develop and enlarge the volunteer base and volunteer drivers, overseeing recruitment, training, and retention efforts.
- Ensure volunteer readiness and safety preparedness, conducting regular trainings and drills.
- Coordinate specialist schedules and area routes, optimizing efficiency and coverage.
- Contribute to the development of department policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with department goals and organization philosophy of care.
- Assist in onboarding and training new staff, sharing expertise and best practices.
- Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports to the director, documenting program activities and outcomes.
- Develop weekly route schedules, coordinating drivers and stewards/captains to ensure comprehensive coverage 5-6 nights a week.
- Maintain and track weekly guest contact, following up on referrals, and conducting readiness assessments.
- Provide expertise in navigating currently available services to guests facing various challenges.
- Manage and develop a large volunteer driver pool, optimizing nightly area coverage and establishing connections with guests.
- Train volunteers in best practices for engaging and building relationships with homeless individuals, instilling trust and acceptance of UGM program services.
- Coordinate with volunteer Engagement Department, Development Department, and Church Partnership for special S&R van outings.
- Ensure all weekly and seasonal supplies needed for S&R routes are on order and distributed.
- Proactively plan for accessible shelter beds and external emergency shelters for immediate guest transport during routes.
- Collaborate with the Director to develop and oversee a well-informed S&R orientation, incorporating insights from seasoned volunteers.
- Work closely with other department managers to accomplish goals set for Search and Rescue.
- Attend all Mission meetings and training sessions, as required.
- Participate in awareness campaigns with Marketing Dept.
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.

How you qualify
- Acknowledge and sign the Mission's Statement of Faith (see below)
- Bachelor’s degree or combined experience in related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in homeless outreach or related field.
- Experience in supervisory or managerial roles.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Must possess a valid unrestricted Washington State Driver’s License and be able to meet the standards of the Mission driver criteria required, including but not limited to:
- Clean driving record
- No current suspensions or revocations in the last 3 years
- At least 21 years of age

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; bend, stoop or reach. Occasionally will stand, balance, twist, stoop, kneel and reach with hands/arms. Regularly lifts up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
