We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Manager to facilitate the smooth execution of construction projects. The Project Manager will be responsible, in conjunction with the jobsite foreman, for successful sitework projects by creating schedules, detailed records of project budgets, accounting and productions, ingenuity, coordination with engineers and owners, excellent communication, jobsite procurement, attention to detail, teamwork etc.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Strong understanding of heavy civil plans and projects including grades, elevations, etc.
- Proficient in project management software and Microsoft OƯice Suite
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to assess project data, interpret reports, and make informed decisions that contribute to project success
- Understanding of construction regulations, building codes, permits, and safety standards to ensure project compliance and adherence to legal requirements
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- At least 5 years of experience as a project manager or similar role in the heavy civil and construction industry
- Key financial eye for project profitability
- Excellence in communication, coordination, email documentation, and accounting tasks
Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to safety standards
- Project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation in collaboration with Jobsite Foreman
- Review project plans and critique for accuracy, prospective conflicts, and material procurement
- Coordinate project activities, including meetings, site visits, material deliveries, owner meetings etc.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, and RFIs
- Create submittals and RFI’s as needed for the project
- Generate and distribute regular project reports, status updates, and meeting minutes
- Serve as a point of contact for the Semmel internal project teams subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure efficient communication
- Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting
- Identify and mitigate potential project risks
- Create and maintain project schedules, tracking milestones, and adjusting timelines as necessary
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operation efficiencies within project coordination activities
- Preconstruction review of jobsite materials prior to ordering
- Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
- Create AIA monthly billings
- Cost Code all project invoices
- Track and create change orders, T&M and prepare for monthly owner billings
- Communicate with Estimator on project budget and change orders
