Wellness Coaches support clients' physical, mental, and emotional well-being by providing educational sessions on health issues and maintaining healthy habits, improving lifestyle choices, and achieving overall wellness goals, with a focus on prevention, self-care, behavior change, and stress management.
High School diploma/GED required. Experience in wellness and health education, or behavioral health preferred.
Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.
Must pass a Criminal Background Check and Employment Fitness Determination through WVCARES and a drug screen.
Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills required.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
Must possess clear and effective communication, presentation, interpersonal and organizational skills. Skilled in public speaking and engaging group discussions.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), video conferencing tools, multimedia integration, document creation and editing, web-based collaboration tools, and basic technical troubleshooting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide educational sessions on a variety of health topics, including tobacco cessation, heart disease, hypertension diabetes, obesity, alcohol and drug use, exercise, stress management, healthy eating, etc. using approved curriculum.
- Present information in both group and one-to-one setting - private and public presentations.
- Create a supportive and interactive learning environment where participants can ask questions, share experiences, and build confidence.
- Using approved meal plans, provide assistance with shopping and selecting quality, local produce or food stores that offer fresh, healthy options.
- Represent Seneca in a positive manner including maintaining a positive attitude and performing duties in a manner in accordance with Seneca’s Code of Conduct and Ethical Practices.
- Assure quality service for clients by becoming knowledgeable of and adhering to rules, regulations, and legal requirements and by documenting services provided in accordance with established standards.
- Secure information by adhering to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations and Seneca privacy policies and keeping client information confidential.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
