Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified and reliable Armed Security Guard to join our team and provide security services at various TxDOT locations. The ideal candidate will have prior armed security experience, a commitment to safety and protection, and the ability to act quickly and decisively when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of armed security experience within the past 5 years.
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Licensing: Must be a licensed commissioned officer in the state of Texas.
- Training: Successfully completed state-approved armed security guard training courses.
- Permits: Possess the necessary state of Texas permits and directives to carry a weapon.
Duties and Responsibilities:
As an Armed Security Guard, your primary responsibilities include:
Security Operations:
- Perform duties in accordance with Security Guard Post Procedures.
- Use force only when necessary to protect persons and property.
- Patrol the interior and exterior of buildings and grounds at random intervals.
- Monitor state vehicles, document their location, and secure them as necessary.
- Monitor security systems, including burglary, fire, and CCTV systems.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Complete Shift Activity Reports and ensure all activities during the shift are documented, including any unusual or suspicious incidents.
- Report any suspicious, criminal, or unusual activity at TxDOT locations to local police and the designated TxDOT representative immediately.
- Contact appropriate personnel when receiving incoming mail, fax, or carrier deliveries at the security post.
Property Security:
- Conduct random checks of boxes and containers taken out of the building to ensure no unauthorized removal of state property.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $18.43 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
