Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and disciplined Director of Business Development with at least 5 years of experience in business development, particularly within the manufacturing sector. This individual will be responsible for driving growth by identifying new opportunities, developing key relationships, and closing deals for a manufacturing company focused on sustainable, non-metal materials . The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, be sustainability-conscious, and have a proven ability to build and manage a robust sales pipeline from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Sales Strategy:

  • Develop and execute business development strategies to identify and secure new business opportunities.
  • Act as the key driver of growth by “hunting” for new business prospects and converting leads into clients.
  • Leverage industry knowledge and networks to expand the company’s reach in sustainable manufacturing materials.

Pipeline Management & Sales Process:

  • Build and maintain a comprehensive sales pipeline, actively managing prospects through the sales process.
  • Follow a structured sales process to track progress, meet targets, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance metrics monthly, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet objectives.

Customer Engagement & Relationship Building:

  • Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders and clients.
  • Develop deep industry knowledge to understand clients’ needs and deliver tailored solutions focused on sustainability.

Sustainability Leadership:

  • Advocate for and promote the company’s sustainability-focused materials and solutions in the market.
  • Stay informed about trends and advancements in sustainable manufacturing, and help position the company as a thought leader in the space.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or a similar role in the manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in non-metal materials and an understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Proven track record of hunting for new business and closing high-value deals.
  • Strong pipeline management skills with the ability to work autonomously to build and manage a sales process.
  • Deep understanding of sustainability in manufacturing and the ability to effectively communicate its value to clients.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Highly disciplined, self-motivated, and goal-oriented.
  • Ability to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
