Concrete Senior Estimator at Shiel Sexton
Concrete Senior Estimator reports to the General Manager of the concrete division and is responsible for preparing detailed concrete estimates and budgets for projects that include concrete structural foundations walls or decks, flatwork or slab on grade construction, elevated decks, & site work for Shiel Sexton or potential 3rd party clients.

- Ability to communicate and delegate strategically with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, & the construction team across a multitude of projects at once.
- Review and apply appropriate prices and labor factors to materials, equipment, formwork, excavations, & backfill.
- Maintain an up-to-date subcontractor and vendor list for preparing competitive bids.
- Develop high-quality proposals with well-defined scope and exclusion lists tailored to each specific project.
- Proactively seek and follow-up on leads for new work to bid.
- Prepare initial budget for the project and accurately cost code the project for time, material, and subcontractor costs.
- Set-up and run a startup meeting for turnover of project to the project superintendent including: reviewing the construction documents, preparing a list of vendors or contacts, schedule, and well detailed scope document for the concrete project superintendent.
- Review construction products, materials, or forming systems for continual education of concrete knowledge to increase productivity and reduce costs.
Qualifications
- Five years of field experience in concrete construction (site work/structural foundations or structures) or with experience on projects such as warehouses, offices, public education, hotels, churches, or multi-family projects.
- Proficient in Computer skills (view point / excel / word / On-screen take off)
- Extremely Detail oriented
