Company Overview: SkyMark Refuelers is a leading producer of Aircraft Refuelers and Vacuum Trucks. We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. - Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of financial transactions related to manufacturing operations.
- Support the month-end, quarter-end, year-end close process.
- Assist in the resolution of any accounting and internal control issues in accounting operations.
- Support various special projects and ad-hoc projects.
- Improve timeliness and accuracy of financial closing and reporting.
- Assist in cross-functional initiatives and communicate progress effectively, e.g., Netsuite and Docuware implementation.
- Identify areas of improvement and make actionable suggestions.
- Support the external audit process.
- Act as a thought leader, build trusted relationships, influence outcomes, and drive urgency on critical matters.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and provide detailed account variance analysis.
- Record monthly credit card transactions and reconcile to statement.
- Maintain vendors and customer database and support 1099 issuance at year-end.
- Special projects: as directed by the management team.
- Microsoft Windows (Operating System: Standard User Level – 100% Familiarity)
- Microsoft 365 (relevant work experience using Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams apps)
- QuickBooks or NetSuite experience preferred.
- Document storage/retrieval software experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with a strong preference for manufacturing experience.
- Proficiency in accounting principles and practices
- Self-motivated: to dive into processes, understand the business, and how it impacts accounting.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and analytical – with a proven track record of on-the-job accuracy.
- Fast learner and adaptable – to meet challenges and the day-to-day flux of the job.
- Open-minded: to interact with various employees, particularly the purchasing department.
- Able to present ideas/work progress/concepts to team members or groups, as necessary.
- Able to juggle multiple tasks and priorities.
- This role is expected to be on site.
- Extensive (daily) use of computing/office equipment.
- Willing to work additional hours/days as requested to meet business demands.
- Primarily sitting, with some bending, standing, and walking.
- Occasionally lift or move items, up-to-25 pounds each.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, or other technical instruments.
