POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for developing, growing sales throughout the Northwest Region of North America. The Business Development Manager (BDM) works closely with established and potential new Slingco distributors to secure business. Additionally, the BDM will establish the Slingco brand directly within large utility companies, utility contractors, municipal utilities, industrial clients, and offshore marine clients. This includes driving utility standards committees to add Slingco as the preferential provider and following through with the Slingco distributor network to obtain orders for the product and ensure the continued flow of future orders through proper inventory levels held at the partnered distributors. The BDM may also locate and qualify new distribution partners to properly serve the market.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the industrial and utility sectors in the Northwest North America region.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including utility tool committee heads, plant managers, procurement officers, distribution sales and management, and executives in target industries.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
- Develop and implement effective sales strategies, pricing models, and deliver proposals that will meet customer demands and exceed sales targets.
- Work closely with internal teams (marketing, customer service, operations, engineering) to ensure customer needs are met and delivered on time.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to expand the brand’s network and market presence.
- Provide regular sales performance updates, forecasts, and market insights to senior management.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or related field.
- Experience in business development or sales within the industrial and/or utility sectors. Experience in the Northwest industrial market is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of industrial and utility sales cycles, market trends, and customer needs. Exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated success in meeting and exceeding sales targets and driving new business growth.
- Ability to travel frequently within the assigned region.
