What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving position at Small local Herb Farm?
Overview:
We are seeking a cheerful detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Lead Shipping and Receiving/Production manager for our Herb Farm in New Paltz. As a Lead Shipping and Receiving/Production worker, you will be responsible for managing/ packing incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our farmhouse production operations as well as taking inventory and purchasing and helping the team out with assorted other tasks, .
Duties:
- Receive incoming shipments and verify the contents against purchase orders or invoices
- Inspect packages for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate parties
- Unload, unpack, and stock received items in designated areas
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packing items securely, labeling packages, and arranging for carrier pickup or dropping off to the post office
- Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments
- Pull inventory for orders and make a production list of missing items from picklist
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely fulfillment of customer orders
- Take inventory counts and place orders for bottles/jars/ and packing supplies.
Experience Preferred:
- Previous experience in a similar role, packing and shipping and using shipstation and e commerce sites such as etsy, bigcartel, etc.
- Familiarity with order fulfillment processes and shipping/receiving procedures
Skills:
-Proficiency in computers!
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
-Ability to come to work with a good attitude and work well with others but also working well by oneself
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
