Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Payroll Specialist and Human Resources Assistant to join our team. This dual-role position requires expertise in payroll processing, compliance, and reporting, coupled with support for human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring smooth payroll operations and providing critical HR support to our team.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Specialist Duties
- Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including wages, deductions, benefits, and tax information.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations.
- Handle employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Prepare and file payroll tax reports, W-2s, and other required documentation.
- Manage direct deposits, wage garnishments, and other payroll-related adjustments.
- Reconcile payroll reports and ensure data integrity.
Human Resources Assistant Duties
- Support HR in recruiting efforts, including job postings, candidate screening, and coordinating interviews.
- Assist with new hire onboarding, including orientation, paperwork, and benefits enrollment.
- Maintain and update employee records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies.
- Respond to employee questions regarding benefits, policies, and procedures.
- Assist with tracking employee performance evaluations.
- Participate in HR projects, including policy updates, training programs, and employee engagement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- Experience:
- 2 years of experience in payroll processing and/or human resources support.
- Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Solid understanding of payroll laws, tax regulations, and HR compliance.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
