A reputable construction management company is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its office in the greater Boston area. This role is 100% onsite 5 days a week and to be considered applicants must be with in an hour commute to the Ashland, MA area. The role involves maintaining financial records and ensuring proper recording of financial transactions. Key responsibilities include supporting general ledger account reviews, assisting with financial and administrative functions, contributing to planning processes, and providing reporting support to various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare complex financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, for domestic and international operations.
- Assist with the monthly Work in Progress (WIP) revenue recognition process.
- Conduct general ledger account reviews and reconciliations.
- Prepare and enter various financial entries, including accounts receivable, recurring journal entries, depreciation, cash transfers, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Collaborate on state and country-specific tax filings with foreign tax experts.
- Prepare and/or review cash reporting for internal treasury operations.
- Manage job setups, cost codes, budgets, and perform ad hoc financial reporting.
- Provide support for internal and external audits.
- Assist with annual budget forecasts and quarterly updates.
- Support the development of long and short-term business plans.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting.
- Proficiency in general accounting, auditing, payroll, and invoicing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or CPA credentials.
- Familiarity with JD Edwards software and advanced Excel functions.
- Experience with construction accounting, including Work in Progress (WIP) reports and change orders.
