Overview
The Travel Coordinator I completes travel support tasks within the area of Operations Management for a large nationwide language interpretation services program. Ensures successful completion of tasks and work activities at best value (Performance, Quality and Cost) to satisfy customer operational and contract requirements.
Responsibilities
- Performs assigned tasks as part of the Travel sub-process in support of Operations and the Order-to-Fulfill (O2F) process
- Receives, processes and fulfills travel support requests from Operations
- Coordinates and completes domestic travel arrangements for interpreters supporting the program; includes airline reservations, hotel accommodations, car rentals, trains, and other ground transportation services at the lowest possible price, utilizing all applicable discount programs
- Finalizes itineraries and generates all travel documents in accordance with corporate travel guidelines, traveler preferences and other requirements
- Maintains and updates travel files and log, follows up and tracks each travel record until departure in order to meet operational requirements
- Possesses and maintains knowledge of airline rules and regulations, tariffs, and fare requirements, as well as the ability to accurately apply this information to the processing of all travel arrangements
- Stays abreast of technology and industry trends and updates, including but not limited to use of the intranet resources and tools provided by vendor travel management organizations
- Maintains traveler profiles in contracted travel management systems; ensures appropriate profile information is used when booking travel requests
- Communicates with multiple internal (program, corporate) and external (interpreters, travel management organizations) stakeholders to identify requirements and resources
- Plans, organizes, prioritizes, and coordinates multiple work activities to meet critical deadlines
- Uses initiative and judgment within established guidelines to ensure work orders are fulfilled at best value
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Travel Supervisor and/or Operations Manager
Qualifications
- Minimum of two years’ of experience as a Travel Consultant, Agent or Coordinator
- Must have experience with SABRE and other tranvel applications
- Strong working knowledge of all aspects of ticketing transactions, rerouting and exchange processes
- Must be detail-oriented and possess effective organization, problem-solving and time-management skills
- Spanish speaker preferred with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
- Must be able to take direction, work well with others and contribute positively to a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Spanish-English bilingual (listening, speaking, writing, reading)
Working Conditions
- Normal office working conditions
- Requires a flexible schedule with periods of non-traditional hours including consecutive nights, weekends, or holidays
- May require ability to lift/and or move objects or packages of up to 25 lbs.
Salary : $44,100 - $55,800
