The SFMA is a 501(c)6, non-profit organization founded in 1961 designed to support and promote manufacturing in South Florida. The SFMA is considered one of the largest regional manufacturing associations in the State of Florida with over 6,000 manufacturing companies. The SFMA represents companies in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties, as well as in the Treasure Coast, fostering collaboration, education, and advocacy within the manufacturing community. About the Role – The Opportunity
The SFMA is hiring an experienced and energetic Member Experience and Development Manager to provide superior service to our members and partners and to expand our regional footprint. As the Member Experience and Development Manager, you will play a critical role in the success of SFMA by leading initiatives that strengthen member relationships, enhance engagement, and drive new membership growth. You’ll manage membership operations, coordinate impactful events, and grow the membership base of the SFMA, all while contributing to the overall success of South Florida’s manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities
Member Experience
- Engagement and Retention: Design and implement onboarding processes, create and implement member engagement plans, and provide timely responses to member needs. Create member outreach, visitation plans. Develop member retention plans.
- Event Planning and Coordination: In collaboration with SFMA Staff, plan and organize compelling events, seminars, and webinars for members. Ensure events align with industry trends and member interests.
- Committee Leadership: Serve as the main liaison to committees, providing support and recommending new initiatives when appropriate.
Business Development
- Strategic Growth: Assist in crafting strategies for recruiting new members and retaining existing members.
- Sales and Sponsorships: Build targeted prospect lists and use a variety of outreach methods to drive membership sales and sponsorships for events.
- Networking and Promotion: Represent SFMA at events with the goal of building relationships and increasing awareness of SFMA’s value and offerings.
Administrative Excellence
- Database Management: Maintain accurate membership records and data using Salesforce.
- Communication: Work in collaboration with staff to develop and share engaging content through newsletters, social media, and other channels.
Who You Are
- A proactive relationship builder with excellent customer service skills.
- Experienced in planning, strategic outreach, and CRM management (Salesforce experience preferred).
- A self-starter who thrives in a collaborative and dynamic environment.
- Knowledgeable about the manufacturing industry and passionate about its growth and success.
Requirements:
- Required:
- Associates degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience. A combination of equivalent experience may be considered.
- Experience in event management/planning, customer service principles, and client management services.
- Sales experience.
- Experience using social media platforms for networking and promotion.
- Ability to work independently and maintain a flexible schedule which may occasionally include evenings, depending on SFMA event schedules and community event schedules for networking.
- Ability to Use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Strong writing and interpersonal skills including oral communication/presentation skills.
- A valid Driver License and a minimum of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury auto insurance policy is required upon the hiring/position start date.
- Not Required, but a Plus:
- Experience working in non-profit organizations and/or similar to an association structured company like the SFMA.
- Experience with membership based/subscription type sales.
- Experience using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) is preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
Bonus Compensation: In addition to the salaryand benefits, there are bonus incentives for membership sales and sponsorships.
