Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Front Office Manager to oversee the daily operations of our front desk and guest services team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality management, excellent customer service skills, and a passion for providing exceptional guest experiences. This role is crucial in ensuring that our guests feel welcomed and valued from the moment they arrive until their departure.
Duties
- Manage front desk operations, ensuring smooth check-in and check-out processes for guests.
- Supervise and train front office staff, fostering a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and high performance.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests promptly and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
- Oversee night audit processes, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance with hotel policies.
- Maintain effective communication with other departments to coordinate guest services and special requests.
- Implement hotel management procedures to enhance operational efficiency and improve the overall guest experience.
- Schedule, mentor, train and coach the Front Office team
- Manage the Bell staff, monitoring and evaluating their performance
- Represent hotel management in guest issue resolution, managing difficult service situations
- Anticipate and improve guest satisfaction
- Pro-actively monitor, track and respond to guest comments and feedback
- Manage shift transfer process & proactively disseminate information
- Participate in hotel departmental meetings
- Interviews, hire and train guest services agents
- Becomes informed of events/functions in the hotel during shifts.
- Maintains a house bank and keeps an accurate report of daily receipts and deposits.
- Work with and understand basic financial data and information.
- Promote hotel services, facilities and outlets, provides the guest with information such as local attractions and directions, increasing guest satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in hospitality to continually improve service delivery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in front desk operations or guest services within the hospitality industry, preferably in a hotel setting.
- Strong knowledge of hotel management systems and night audit procedures.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations with professionalism.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse guests.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required
- Proficient in the English language, both spoken and written. Second language is an asset.
- Knowledge of Booking.com and Expedia Extranets is a must.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
- Strong Leadership and management skills.
- Ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel management software.
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
