Temporary Medical Assistant

We are hiring a Temporary Medical Assistant for an area hospital. The hours are Monday-Thursday 8am-5pm and Friday 8am-12pm. Pay will be $15.32 DOE. As our Medical Assistant you will provide a variety of patient care activities, clerical duties and accommodative services for all patients.
The Medical Assistant will:

• Provide an appropriate clinic environment for patient care by maintaining the patient area in an orderly manner and maintaining the neatness of the work environment, including exam and treatment rooms.
• Perform patient care activities within limits of position and under the direct supervision which may include but not limited to: vital signs, obtaining height and weight, phlebotomy, and other procedures required for client health screenings.
• Assist patients and families with navigation throughout the clinic and with appointments; as well as, scheduling of patients.
• Maintain and orders clinic and lab supplies and assists with ordering and maintaining par level supplies as necessary. Includes stocking of the lab, and clinic areas and proper disposal of waste.
• Consistently follows hospital policy regarding verification of patient identification before obtaining specimen and ensures specimens are appropriately labeled with patient identifiers, date and time of collection and initials.
• Ensure lab charges and patient charges are completed and accurate on a daily basis either on the computer or on paper as indicated in the designated areas.

Requirements To be considered for this position you must meet the following requirements:

• 1-3 years of Medical Assistant experience.
• Must have experience as a Phlebotomists.
• CPR Certified or within 30 days of hire.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to show proof of all immunization records.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
