Job Summary

The Nova Academy Child Care Center Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a child care facility, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. This leadership role requires a strong commitment to the development and implementation of educational programs, staff management, and compliance with regulatory standards. The Director will work closely with parents, staff, and the community to promote a positive atmosphere that fosters children's growth and learning. This individual will be the communicator and compliance leader for its governing agency in South Carolina, DSS.
Duties
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational programs that meet the needs of children and align with state regulations.
- Supervise and support teaching staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all licensing requirements, health regulations, and safety standards.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and staff to create a welcoming community environment.
- Manage administrative tasks including budgeting, enrollment processes, and record keeping.
- Conduct regular assessments of program effectiveness and make necessary adjustments to enhance quality.
- Collaborate with local organizations and resources to support families and children’s needs.
Skills
- A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education is required to effectively guide educational practices.
- Strong background in education administration to manage the operational aspects of the center.
- Ability to educate staff on best practices in child development and early childhood education.
- Experience working with students in various capacities to understand their diverse needs.
