What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Childhood Special Educator position at Southwest Vermont Supervisory Union?
Duties (include but are not limited to): ?Assure compliance of district policies and procedures, child care licensing and Act 166 regulations.?Implement evidence based practices for young children including development and maintenance of a high quality early education environment in accordance with ECERS-R guidelines.?Provide evidence based developmentally appropriate effective instruction aligned to the VELS, and coordinate quality services for young children and their families. ?Provide consultation, mentoring and support for early care and education providers with tasks such as curriculum planning, assessment, observations, data collection and analysis. ?Develop and maintain collaboration with colleagues, appropriate community agencies and early care and education providers. ?Coordinate transition opportunities for children entering kindergarten within the SVSU.?Partner with parents to enhance childrens early learning through regular parent communication and by organizing parent involvement opportunities.
?Participate in developmental screenings throughout the year for children birth to 5.
