What are the responsibilities and job description for the Order Entry Clerk position at Specialized Packaging Group?
Job Objective: Customer-facing position in which purchase orders are taken from each customer or salesperson and are accurately input into a computer database.
Essential Functions:

- Acts as receptionist to main building.
- Obtain customers’ names, addresses, billing information, product numbers, and purchase specifications, and enter this information into the ERP system.
- Review orders for completeness according to reporting procedures and forward incomplete orders for further processing.
- Inform customers of order information such as unit prices, shipping dates, and any anticipated delays.
- Check inventory records to determine availability of requested merchandise.
- Notify departments when supplies of specific items are low, or when orders would deplete available supplies.
- Adjust inventory records to reflect product movement.
- Calculate and compile order-related statistics and prepare reports for management.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED.
Skills/Abilities:
Ability to read and understand work instructions and convey information effectively in written and verbal communication.
Ability to work scheduled work hours, along with occasional required overtime.
Ability to effectively organize and prioritize tasks and effectively self-manage time.
Ability to effectively use technology such as Microsoft Office software and ERP software (Sage software knowledge preferred).

Working Conditions: The work environment for this position is an office environment with moderate noise levels. Occasionally the work will include a warehouse environment with moderate to loud noise levels. The warehouse environment may be dusty and may experience temperature fluctuations based on weather which exposes the employee to outdoor conditions.
