SCI, the leading real estate search firm, is seeking an Associate to join a national, award winning affordable, workforce, and mixed-income housing developer and investor with twenty five thousand units across the country.
With great access to capital, and ambitious strategic vision, they aspire to double their portfolio size by 2030.
The Associate will make an impact on the entire life cycle of investments, from deal analysis and underwriting, to capital structuring and closing, as part of their ground-up development team. Based on their growth trajectory, there will be great opportunities for advancement and to put their fingerprints on the build-out of the newer ground-up division.
Responsibilities
- Analysis and underwriting of development opportunities
- Develop models to value real-estate investments
- Maintain ownership model throughout deal lifecycle
- Assist in closing with investors and lenders
- Perform rent studies and market tours for prospective and active development deals
- Communicate with and prepare investment presentations for all stakeholders
- Review reports and diligence to inform/improve assumptions in model
- Keep deal timelines updated and support the review/negotiation of debt and equity documents
- Prep/score funding applications for LIHTC deals
- Market research
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree - Finance, Accounting, Economics or Real Estate Concentration is a plus.
- Work experience in multifamily real estate – previous employment at a real estate development, real estate investment or commercial banking firm with exposure to tax credit transactions
- Excellent verbal/written communication, organizational, presentation and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Ability to take ownership and commitment to follow through.
