We seek responsible individuals to work with teenagers from 12 - 20 years old in a highly secure setting. Successful candidates are great communicators passionate about helping young people meet their individual goals and contribute to a positive peer community. The starting pay rate is commensurate with relevant experience.
The Maintenance Worker is responsible for facility maintenance and repairs. This position services, repairs, and installs plumbing and heating fixtures and systems. Essential to this position is the responsibility for performing preventative maintenance of assigned SJJS facilities and installs, services, and repairs. This includes special events setup and breakdown of equipment. spot painting, floor care, and other minor maintenance activities, maintenance of mechanical equipment and locking systems

- Minimum Requirements
- A High School diploma or GED is required for this position.
- Satisfactory State Police Record Check, negative T.B test, satisfactory physical exam, including pre-employment drug screen.
- Possess a valid and unrestricted Michigan driver's license and a safe driving record.
- Must have reliable transportation.
The youth in this program may receive individual counseling emphasizing personal accountability and restorative justice. The youth worker develops professional relationships with the youth and serves as a mentor.
Must complete and return a record of no findings on the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Child Protective Services (CPS) clearance, a criminal history background check, a physical examination which indicates satisfactory health status free from infectious diseases including TB, and physical ability to perform the functions of this job description with or without accommodation. Must have reliable transportation and a valid State of Michigan Driver’s License.
