The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing construction projects.

The Construction Project Manager will develop and manage project budgets, create detailed schedules and oversee resource allocation to ensure optimal execution. The project manager will conduct regular site inspections, review construction plans and specifications, identify potential risks, implement proactive measures to mitigate them and verify that all the work is performed to the highest quality standards.


Roles & Responsibilities

• The Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and managing all phases of construction projects, including project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closeout.

• Establishing project objectives, scope and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and ensuring alignment with client requirements.

• Developing and managing project schedules and plans, budgets and resource allocations to ensure cost efficiency and timely delivery.

• The Construction Project Manager will maintain effective communication with architects, engineers, contractors and subcontractors to monitor construction progress, resolve issues and ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.

• Maintain effective communication with project team members and stakeholders to provide project updates and maintain strong working relationships. Regular updates will include progress including milestones, budget updates and significant developments or risk.

• Managing procurement processes, including bid evaluations, contract negotiations and vendor selection.

• Oversee project budgeting and cost control and manage change orders to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.

• Work with Construction Superintendent to ensure compliance with safety regulations and legal requirements, prioritizing a safe working environment for all involved.

• Work with Construction Superintendent to implement and enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.

• Evaluate and select contractors and subcontractors based on qualifications, experience and cost-effectiveness.

• Manage construction project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings and change orders.

• Conduct regular meetings to facilitate communication, address challenges and to meet project objectives.

• Carry out thorough project evaluations and assessments to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary corrective measures.

• The Construction Project Manager will provide leadership and guidance to the project team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.


Qualifications

• 5 years of construction experience with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within budget.

• Four-year degree in engineering, construction, or business-related field.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Procore

• Proficiency with industry standard scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, etc)

• Proficiency in construction management software, project scheduling tools and cost estimation software.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, including project blueprints and construction schematics.

• Experience with concrete and carpentry ‘self-perform’ work preferred.

• OSHA 30 hour preferred

• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes and safety regulations.

• Excellent project management skills, including effective planning, organizing and prioritizing tasks.

• The Construction Project Manager must demonstrate strong leadership, communication and organization skills to manage project teams and stakeholders.

• Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and green building certifications.

• Local experience and contractor knowledge preferred.

• Strong negotiation & dispute resolution skills required.

• Strong estimating skills required.

• Can do / will do attitude.

• Knowledge of risk management and budget management principles.

• Experience with construction contract negotiations and claims management.

• Strong financial understanding and experience in project budgeting and cost control.


Work Environment & Physical Demands

• Drive for extended periods of time to various job sites across the state

• May need to climb ladder, scaffolding and forms

• May need to traverse uneven ground

• May need to lift 50lbs

• May need to perform a great deal of reaching, bending, balancing, kneeling, crawling, turning & twisting (180 degrees)

• May work in weather conditions common to this area including heat, cold, rain and snow

• May work in seated or standing positions for prolonged periods of time, perform sustained manual activities at low to moderate levels of exertion
