What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at Sportsfield Specialties?
Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to manage all project activities related to Stadium Construction Projects. This position can be located in NY, NC, or Remotely.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Ability to successfully manage and track multiple construction projects from project award through completion of post-installation punch lists.
- Frequent travel (~50%) throughout the United States as required.
- Analyze project specifications and construction drawings to gain detailed understanding of each project.
- Review contracts for scope and overall accuracy. Generate and track Change Orders.
- Develop athletic equipment layout drawings (padding, netting, batting tunnels, etc.) and other project-related submittals/documents as required for customer approval, material fabrication and accurate installations.
- Frequently perform site visits and obtain detailed field measurements to confirm designs, ensure accuracy, and minimize downstream issues.
- Manage project schedules and coordinate with General Contractors, Sales, Engineering, Production/Operations, Finance, Installers, and other departments as required.
- Maintain organized project records for frequent reference by others and future reference.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Skills:
- Excellent technical/construction, written, verbal and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in an extremely fast-paced, high-pressure environment with frequent travel.
- Familiarity with construction equipment/procedures and overall technical aptitude.
- Outstanding organizational/prioritization skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
- Basic Project/Financial Management skills, including managing Contracts, Change Orders and Schedules.
Experience/Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction, Business or similar field.
- 3 years of Project Management, Construction and/or Engineering experience, preferably in a Sports or Construction environment.
- Previous experience with CAD, PDF markup tools and/or Graphics software.
