Description
Spotts, Stevens and McCoy is currently recruiting for a Senior Geologist/Technical Lead to join our Water Resources team. This individual will play a key role in protecting drinking water resources throughout Pennsylvania by supervising the development of new wells and being part of the team that assists PaDEP in developing Source Water Protection Plans. The ideal candidate will have a Pennsylvania Geology license, and experience with groundwater modeling, aquifer evaluations, and GIS software. Working with a team, this individual will be responsible for developing hydrogeologic reports, managing projects, and managing staff.
Requirements
Primary Responsibilities
- Supervising field activities for the development and permitting of community water supply projects.
- Performing 3-dimensional groundwater modeling using MODFLOW, GMS, and GIS.
- Organizing, writing, and editing proposals, reports, and other technical documents.
- Mentoring and managing junior staff for specific project assignments.
- Overseeing well drilling, collecting field data, and interpreting subsurface conditions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field of study.
- 10 years of related work experience.
- Professional Geologist certification in Pennsylvania.
- Knowledge of technical software and GIS.
- Detail-oriented with ability to execute technical analysis.
- Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and schedules.
- Ability to effectively manage team members.
This position is based out of our Reading PA office; however, there may be flexibility for a hybrid-remote work model.
