Assistant Director of Nursing
- Must have current Registered Nurse license for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (and be in good standing)

- Responsible for the operation of the nursing department and the inter-action with other departments
- Participates in the development of the nursing policies and procedures
- Protect the safety of the residents by ensuring nursing staff preform their tasks and responsibilities as assigned
- Protect the safety of the nursing staff by ensuring a safe work place exists
- Supervise staff and evaluate performances of departmental personnel
- Meet with departmental personnel to identify and correct problem areas for the improvement of services
- Administer disciplinary action as necessary
- Establish / maintain a cooperative working relationship with residents, their families and community agencies
- Ensure compliance with current state and federal regulations that pertain to Nursing by educating staff and developing clear procedures for staff to follow and make recommendations on changes in policies and procedures to the Director of Nursing, Assistant Administrator and President and CEO
- Ensure compliance with surveyor pathways used by State and Federal surveyors to prevent various FTAGS being cited
- Supervisors and delegate resident care
- Support the Shift Supervisors and fill in as a Shift Supervisor when needed (know how to do everything a Shift Supervisor does). In order to supervise the RN Shift Supervisor, it is required to have a full understanding of their role and job
- Problem solve and resolve nursing floor issues with residents / family issues and with staff to staff issues
- Ensure nursing work schedules meet the state and federal requirements and are meeting the care needs of the current resident population served. Work with nursing staff and agencies to fill gaps in the schedule including for call-offs. Adjust work assignments for nursing personnel, as needed
- Case manage the residents with managed care health insurance coverage leading the care navigation and continuous improvement on the Medicare Advantage score cards
- Participate in the interdisciplinary plan of care team meeting as needed
- Participates in performance improvement projects (PIPs)
- Responds appropriately to emergency situations
- Participates in building safety / security issues / concerns
