The Department of Computer Science at St. Bonaventure University invites applications for a Lecturer position in the Cybersecurity program beginning Fall 2025.
Examples of Duties
Main responsibilities will include teaching and coordinating undergraduate Cybersecurity courses and labs. These courses span the Cybersecurity curriculum, from introductory classes to advanced technical courses and labs. There is also the potential to teach online graduate courses.

Typical Qualifications
Applicants must have a master’s degree or higher in Cybersecurity or a closely-related field, be familiar with information security as a field broadly, and have technical knowledge of network security & penetration testing. They must also have practitioner experience in at least some of the following areas to teach interactive labs: firewalls, routers, Active Directory, group policies, operating system services, scripting, IDS/IPS rules, and SIEM systems.
Applicants must have an interest in teaching and advising undergrad students, as well as potentially supervising their research. An understanding and concern of how Cybersecurity affects society and individuals, which is a core concern of the department, is also expected. Applicants must also be willing to actively participate in department events and meetings, including by representing the program during the recruitment process in order to help increase enrollment.
Previous teaching experience, at least 3 years industry experience, and/or industry certifications are preferred.
