JOB SUMMARY
-
The Referral Specialist position is critical to ensure comprehensive patient care. Managing ingoing and outgoing system-wide referrals and ensuring that referrals are made to the appropriate specialist or service. Works closely with Community Liaison to provide education/information to outside referral sources in the community so they are aware of services at Aspirus St Luke’s. Ongoing responsibility for assessing the current process, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing changes as necessary across the system.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: Three (3) years experience in a healthcare setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education: One (1) year Diploma/Certificate from a post-secondary school

Experience: Completion of a medical terminology course

Knowledge of medical office procedures and anatomy and physiology.

Knowledge of computer skills including Excel and Word.

Knowledge of organization policies and procedures and applies policies and principles to the solution of everyday problems as well as dealing with a variety of situations, including occasional crises.
