Job Overview
The part-time Safety Director is responsible for overseeing and implementing safety protocols within the Saint Paul Church of Sacramento (SPC) Campus. Specifically, this role is responsible to ensure a secure environment for weekend services for all employees, volunteers, guests, and property assets.
Duties
- 1. Provide directions to campus staff and ministry teams for various safety and security plans, and/or incidents.
2. Conduct risk and safety assessment of the safety and security needs of the (SPC) Campus annually.
3. Provide the pastor protection and coordinate the safe movement of the pastor, guest speakers, and others as needed at church sponsored services and events.
4. Develop and implement safety and security policies and procedures (e.g., weather, fire, active shooter, firearms, bomb, kidnapping, etc.)
5. Point of contact (POC) for law enforcement, fire, and EMT services for various (SPC) Campus sponsored events and/or services or other special events.
6. Conduct annual performance review and evaluation of contracted security firm.
7. Coordinate training for Church Staff, Ushers, Deacons, Trustees, Security Team, Associate Ministers, Information Booth Ministry, First Aide Ministry and MHRH.
8. In cooperation with the Event Coordinator, coordinate staffing for services and special events.

This position requires a proactive individual who is passionate about creating a safe environment while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. A clear testimony of faith and a personal and growing relationship with Christ evidenced by attitude and behavior.
2. Ability to provide clear directions and supervision to a team.
3. Ability to observe and report safety and security threats.
Education, Training and Experience
-Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Criminal Justice or related field from a four-year University; or three – four years of related training; or equivalent combination of education and training.
-This position requires five years of related and relevant experience. The related/relevant experience includes law enforcement or public safety experience, investigative and supervisory experience, proficiency with control techniques for hostile persons, and experience in recognizing and reacting to hostile/hazardous events and persons.
Note: Consideration may be given to individuals who possess a combination of education and experience within the above parameters.

-Criminal Record Clearance is required.
-Child Abuse Index Clearance is required.
-Certificate in Security Supervision and Management preferred; and,
-Certificate in Peace Officer Training.
POSITION STATUS
Part – time, Exempt
REPORTS TO: Executive Pastor
COMPENSATION is $26,400.00 annually for approximately 480 hours per year.
