In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring efficient coordination and dispatch of both company and third-party trucking operations. You will be responsible for managing freight movements, fielding customer inquiries, and coordinating driver assignments. This position requires a proactive individual who excels in customer service and effective communication, and who can thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

What you will do

• Coordinate freight movements.
• Dispatch and assign drivers for customers in VA locations utilizing OTM.
• Provide quality customer service to all internal and external customers.
• Effectively communicate with yard managers to access their transportation/dispatch needs.
• All other tasks as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

What we look for

• Bachelor's Degree/Associate's Degree in Transportation Management or related field and/or minimum three years of experience in dispatch.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with other departments and all levels of employees.
• Must represent the company at all times in a positive and professional manner to enhance the company's image with employees, leadership and the public.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and demonstrate effective time management skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Knowledge of Federal and State DOT regulations.
• Ability to make quick decisions in an ever changing fast paced work environment.
  
  

Preferred

• Dispatch experience preferred, but not required.
• CDL or previous driving experience is preferred, but not required.
• OTM experience is preferred, but not required.
