What are the responsibilities and job description for the BIM Manager position at Stengel Hill Architecture?
SUMMARY
Stengel Hill (SH) is searching for a highly self-disciplined and self-directed BIM Manager who will work with all of SH’s offices to lead and manage how SH uses our BIM software and other complementary software and tools to create the highest quality, most consistent, and highly usable design and construction documents in our industry. The BIM Manager will be responsible for creating a product that people love and want to use because it makes their work better and more enjoyable. This position can sit in any of the Stengel Hill locations: Louisville, KY; Lexington, KY; or Nashville, TN.
POSITION OVERVIEW
- This position will be responsible for leading all Stengel Hill offices in BIM modeling and modeling processes
- Conduct BIM-related training sessions and workshops to enhance team skills and understanding of BIM processes
- Provide onboarding training to all new employees for use of CADD/Revit tools.
- Create system of receiving template and tool feedback from team and setting up “work order” type tasks to implement feedback.
- Complete development on REVIT template for all SH office to utilize.
- Reduce time to produce final Construction Documents. As our current tools are evaluated, you will be expected to establish a baseline of average hours for production across the firm and track reduction after implementation of higher standardization and increased training.
- Develop, implement, and maintain BIM standards, procedures, and workflows for the firm
- Manages software for BIM team, including installing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting all BIM installations as well as analyzing and solving BIM user issues
- Supports each project by managing and creating content library files and templates, creating and enforcing standards, and evaluating project models
- Sets up Revit projects assigned to team and creates Revit families needed for assigned projects
- Sets up, runs, manages clash detection/BIM coordination for projects assigned to team, and leads BIM coordination process
- Provide written quarterly reports with clear tasks and due dates. At reporting sessions be prepared to obtain feedback, set targets and report on progress and obstacles.
- Attends meetings for developing standards, discussing software options, and addressing issues other team members have encountered
- Collaborate with production staff to increase efficiency and job satisfaction.
- Attending yearly training to advance knowledge and fluency in BIM directorship role.
- Travel required to each of Stengel Hill office location for skill evaluation, onboarding, training, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree in related field
- 4-5 years of full-time experience using BIM software.
- 4-5 years of experience as a Project Architect or Senior Production Manager.
- 2-3 years of healthcare design experience required.
- Proficiency in BIM software, including Revit, AutoCAD, Dynamo, and other related tools.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, Adobe Illustrator, Lumion
- Knowledge of construction documents, architectural design processes, and building systems.
- Able to detail construction documents for complete constructability.
- Preferred previous experience leading teams in implementing BIM or CADD standards.
- Excellent project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
