What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Manager position at Steps to End Domestic Violence?
Job Responsibilities: The Facilities Manager is responsible forthe general oversight, management, and day to day operations of the building both internally and externally. The Facilities Manager reports directly to the Director of Housing Services.
Essential Functions:
· General cleaning, upkeep, and maintenance of grounds and building
· Landscaping; including weeding gardens, mowing, raking, salting and shoveling sidewalks, and general care of all outdoor spaces.
· Manage Agency contracts, including IT and phone services, janitorial services, and any major repairs/maintenance
- Assist with unit turnovers including removal of resident belongings, minor repairs, paint touch up, etc.
- Common area maintenance and cleanliness and other similar projects as needed
- Schedule, communicate, and coordinate with contractors, staff, and residents. Admit contractors to resident rooms and offices as needed.
- Assist in planning, coordination, and execution of building updates
- Perform other duties as needed, assigned, and directed
Organizational Responsibilities:
- Share responsibility for anti-racist, multi-cultural organizational perspective and Steps to End Domestic Violence’s social change mission
- Participate in performance evaluations and annual program planning
- Participate in shelter support as needed
- Participate in and present at agency-wide meetings and events as well as supervision meetings
- Provide after-hours back-up support to Shelter and Hotline Advocates on a rotating basis with other members of leadership
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Working Conditions:
- Primarily working in an office/shelter environment
- Varied hours, some evenings and weekends required
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Knowledge and awareness of trauma-informed services, crisis response and multicultural/diverse perspectives
- Experience with minor property maintenance, landscaping, and grounds upkeep
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to meet deadlines
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as individually
- Ability to enthusiastically interact and collaborate with and engage staff members, volunteers, community partners, and contractors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational and time management skills
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including some weekends and evenings
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs, walk up and down stairs, bend, and stand or walk for long periods of time

This full-time position (40 hour per week) is paid between $55,000 and $62,000 based on experience, and is eligible for a generous benefits package, which includes health, dental, vision and life insurance, 403b plan, 24 paid days off, 12 paid holidays, and sick time.
