POSITION SUMMARY:
Collection of Environmental Samples and performance of Safety Related Inspections at Client Locations
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
REPORTS TO: Field Coordinator
SUPERVISES: No Supervision Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collect liquid and solid environmental samples per standard methods as prescribed by the Benchmark Project Manager for the Client’s project.
2. Perform field tests on environmental samples as indicated by the Benchmark Project Manager for the Client’s project.
3. Once appropriate licenses have been obtained, collect bulk samples for asbestos content determination, perform Air Clearance Sampling following asbestos abatement work is completed, and perform related work as directed.
4. Perform safety-related inspections at client locations following procedures established by the Client or Benchmark Project Manager.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- EDUCATION:
High School Diploma
- WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two years of similar environmental or safety experience, unless the candidate has an AS or BS degree in Safety or Environmental Studies which will satisfy experience requirement.
- SKILLS:
Proficient in Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Good communication skills
Math skills
Driver’s License
PREFERRED:
High School Diploma is acceptable with adequate experience. AS or BS degree in Safety or Environmental Studies is desirable but not critical.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
PHYSICAL EFFORT: The candidate will be capable of lifting (up to 50 pounds occasionally), standing for extended time periods, walking, climbing, and extended time automobile travel.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primarily outside with some indoor work. Occasional out-of-town stays with some overnight stays are required. Primarily day shift work with some limited overtime.
JOB STATUS: This is a non-exempt salary position, full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
