Job Summary

As a Cardiac Monitoring Technician, you will be responsible for continuously observing patients’ heart rhythms, identifying abnormal readings, and notifying healthcare providers of any changes in patient status. You will assist with diagnostic testing, and help ensure that patients’ heart conditions are monitored effectively to support positive clinical outcomes.

Duties

• Monitor patients’ heart rhythms continuously using electrocardiogram (ECG) equipment.
• Detect and interpret abnormal heart rhythms, arrhythmias, and other critical changes in cardiac activity.
• Notify physicians and nurses immediately of any abnormal findings or life-threatening arrhythmias.
• Assist with the setup and maintenance of cardiac monitoring devices.
• Document and report all cardiac monitoring data accurately.
• Work closely with healthcare teams to ensure patients’ safety and effective treatment plans.
• Follow all infection control procedures and ensure patient safety at all times.
• Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives to optimize patient care and workflow efficiency.

Experience

• Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiac monitoring or a related healthcare setting.
• Experience with electrocardiogram (ECG) interpretation and cardiac rhythm analysis.
• Familiarity with various cardiac monitoring devices and equipment.

Requirements

• Certification as a Cardiac Monitoring Technician or equivalent is preferred.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple patients.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
• Must be comfortable working various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
