Drafter

Job Overview

The Draftsman’s responsibilities include gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements, and setting up production methods. The Draftsman will also help design new products, create standard models, and edit any changes based on customer preference or management recommendations.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings and detailed designs with computer-aided design software
• Compute mathematical formulas to find correct dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials
• Preparing, reviewing, and redrafting alongside engineering and R&D
• Develop standardized models of products
• Create and monitor changes to products using SOLIDWORKS
• Describe production methods step-by-step (including equipment and software types to be used)
• Developing technical reports for engineers
• Identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team
• Ensure final designs comply with quality standards
• Develop standardized models of products

Desired Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a Drafter or similar role
• Bachelor of Science in engineering or architecture is preferred
• Experience with SOLIDWORKS
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions
• Ability to work well in a team and on your own
• Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports
• Ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude

Duties may change and expand depending on performance and company growth.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
