Overview

We are seeking Highly motivated applicants for our Assistant Branch Manager (South Office) Position at Sunwest Credit Union. As Assistant Branch Manger you will assist the VP of Member Experience in overseeing branch operations.!

Including but not limited to managing staff schedules, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and providing support to tellers and bankers. This role also involves direct member interaction, cross-selling products, and making lending decisions. The Assistant Branch Manager supervises staff, conducts training, and helps meet branch goals. The position requires strong leadership, communication skills, and financial services experience. The role also involves ensuring branch security and performing duties as needed in a dynamic, customer-focused environment.

Duties

  • Assist with the operations of the branch including scheduling staff, answering questions on complex products and services, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Provide support and monitor the work of tellers, teller supervisors, and universal bankers to ensure the highest level of quality services to members. Provide coaching to staff.
  • Function as a teller and universal banker as needed, filling in for peak schedules, absences, or staff shortages.
  • Develop new relationships and maintain existing relationships by providing financial solutions based on members’ deposit and lending needs.
  • Utilize delegated lending authority prudently to make sound decisions on member loan requests.
  • Maintain a cross-selling environment within the branch. Coach staff to sell products/services and ensure a thorough understanding of their benefits.
  • Supports team by orienting, training, and coaching employees. Identify training needs and work with management to plan, develop and/or conduct training.
  • Meet production goals, improve efficiency, resolve operational issues.
  • Assist with branch security at all levels to include oversight of open/close of the facility, vault, and safe deposit box.
  • Other duties as assigned.

(Required)

  • High school diploma required with two-years or more in financial services/lending. Proficient in using Microsoft Office products (or similar software programs.)
  • Maintain existing or obtain new notary designation.
  • Maintain existing or obtain new NMLS certification.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods standing or sitting at desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift to 25 pounds at a time.

  • Starting pay range for this position will be ($22-$26 per hour)
