Role
The Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the policies and procedures of the Credit Union comply with the appropriate laws and regulations. Analyzes new and pending laws that could directly affect the Credit Union’s current practices. Develop and revise current policies and procedures to ensure compliance. Ensures all affected areas of the Credit Union are kept informed of changing laws and procedures for implementation to be completed at the appropriate time.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Experience One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or l Licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
Skills Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), organization and prioritization skills with the ability to work independently, as well as, collaboratively within a team environment and meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Must possess strong decision-making, analytical, and investigative skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

Ensures all affected areas of the Credit Union are kept informed of changing laws and procedures for implementation to be completed at the appropriate time.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Conduct risk-based monitoring of controls by collecting and analyzing data to detect deficient controls, fraud or non-compliance with laws, regulations, and management policies/procedures. Prepares reports outlining the scope of the compliance monitoring and its results and recommends corrective action as necessary. Report monitoring results to appropriate parties.
- Manages the design and implementation of programs, risk assessments, policies, practices, products & services to ensure that all business units are in compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
- Performs BSA related tasks daily and as assigned. Become a Specialist in the Verafin Software Suite.
- Assist with reviewing proposed and finalized regulations and supervisory guidance documents to determine effect on Credit Union related policies and/or procedures. Timely completion of al compliance monitoring assignments
- Ensures all work product produced by the Compliance Department is accurate and within credit union policies and procedures
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Ability to use office technology such as a computer, internet, email, and other office related software
- Ability to work in an office environment for at least 8 hours per day
- Performs other job related duties as assigned
- Provide assistance in developing, maintaining, and demonstrating current knowledge of applicable federal and state laws and regulations to ensure the Credit Union’s policies and procedures remain compliant and are adhered to in all areas.
- Assist in troubleshooting and resolving member and internal inquiries in a timely, accurate manner.
- Provide informed, professional accurate service and support to all members and associates.
- Prepare and deliver assigned reports in a timely, accurate manner. Keep department informed of key operating issues affecting Credit Union or any department.
- Help to maintain a library of compliance resources.
