Full Time position - 8:30am to 5pm are primary hours. Ideal candidate will have prior work experience with receiving/storeroom functions.
Performs the daily distribution function for non-chargeable and chargeable supplies and equipment utilized by hospital departments. Assist the Director and the Buyer with any other duties assigned. Assist purchasing co-workers to ensure that all chargeable supplies are properly labeled.
- Receive and restock on a daily basis ensuring adequate supplies are available at all times as well as keeping areas neat and organized. On a daily basis, check the operating room core, stock area to maintain adequate par levels needed for surgical procedures.
- Inspects inbound freight for damages and discrepancies and immediately notifies the Materials Coordinator of any damages or discrepancies.
- Notifies manager of on-hand inventory variances, indicating quantity issued, quantity on hand, and system balance. This is done daily, as problems are identified.
- Monitors lounges for proper stock of supplies such as soft drinks, snacks, coffee etc. on a daily basis.
- Daily labels all departmental patient charge items with patient charge stickers prior to delivering to departments
- Flexible with shift hours as necessary due to variations in surgery schedule, month end, and departmental needs. Responsible for participation in inventory and count reconciliation.
Qualifications
Education: High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Two-year prior experience in receiving/storeroom functions preferred. Preference given to prior experience in hospital material management.
Licenses/Certificates: None
Special Skill: Working knowledge of computers and keying skills. Ability to work and function in a high stress environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical Requirements: Ability to work at computer terminals. Ability to lift/carry/pull articles weighing up to 40 pounds throughout the shift. Pushing or pulling large pallet jacks of supplies and heavy equipment. Bending and kneeling required occasionally. Ability to sit at computer terminal inputting data for 1 to 2 hours per shift.
