Responsibilities
- Prepare and present sushi dishes in accordance with restaurant standards.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, adhering to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to plan and develop menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and surrounding areas.
- Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs to management.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and best practices.
- Stay updated on industry trends related to sushi preparation and presentation.
Skills
- Proficient in meal preparation techniques specific to sushi, including rice cooking, fish slicing, and rolling methods.
- Strong understanding of food safety practices within the culinary environment.
- Experience in menu planning that caters to diverse dietary needs.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining high quality standards.
- Knowledge of catering services is a plus, enhancing the ability to serve larger events or gatherings.
- Previous experience in the food industry is highly desirable, particularly within a Japanese cuisine context.
