JOB DESCRIPTION:
Why do you love Teaching? At Sylvan, we remember why. As an Instructor at Sylvan, your primary responsibilities are: Just Teaching. No developing lesson plans. As a Sylvan Instructor, you will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach one-on-one or in a small group setting of 3-4 students. You will provide personalized instruction in your areas of expertise. We are currently hiring positive, nurturing and skilled Elementary School reading and/or math teachers to teach small group instruction, utilizing Sylvan Learning programs outside the classroom for grades K-6 at St. Francis-St. Stephens School. If you aspire to inspire, then we want you on our team. As a successful Instructor, you will:
Deliver Quality Education:
- Teach reading, writing, and/or math using Sylvan based programs
- Supervise, interact with and motivate students during instruction hour
- Reward students for completed assignments
- Evaluate and document student progress
- Inspire and develop rapport with students and establish a fun learning environment
- Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan
- We require : Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience
- Content knowledge and curriculum familiarity with Middle and High School level material
